What Our Company Driver's Are Saying
FAQs
Your Questions Answered
What are the minimum requirements to become a company driver?
To qualify as a company driver, you need at least 2 years of verifiable driving experience, a clean driving record with no tickets or accidents in the last 5 years, and no participation in the Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) program. Drivers must also be prepared to be on the road for 10-14 days at a time, followed by a 4-day break.
What are the expectations for hauling trailers and fuel costs?
As a company driver, you are expected to haul our trailers free of charge, meaning no additional fees are paid for trailer use. However, drivers are responsible for the fuel costs for both their truck and the trailer. To offset this, we pay 100% of the fuel surcharge to our drivers, helping to cover fuel expenses.
What types of driving options are available?
We offer two options: Convoy and Independent Owner. Convoy drivers operate 2019 International trucks (manual or automatic), earn 60 cents per mile (0.11 cents untaxed), and receive benefits like 401(k) profit sharing, paid vacation, health insurance, and a W2 tax form. If a truck breaks down, it’s replaced to minimize downtime. Independent Owners drive 2016 Freightliners, receive a 50/50 split of take-home pay, and are issued a 1099 tax form for greater independence.
What kind of trucks will I be driving?
Convoy drivers are assigned 2019 International trucks, available in manual or automatic transmission. Independent Owners drive 2016 Freightliner trucks. Both options ensure reliable equipment, with Convoy drivers benefiting from our policy of replacing trucks that break down to keep you moving.
